I provide talk therapy that is typically informed from a mixture of psychodynamic, person-centered, internal family systems (IFS), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) theories. I have a baseline knowledge of a wide variety of theories and approach my sessions from an eclectic standpoint - meaning I will incorporate different theories and techniques as is needed by the individual client.

I graduated from my master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL in 2022. My program was psychodynamic based and provided my specialty in this theory.
I have completed IFS trainings to gain a better understanding of the theory and how to incorporate it into every day sessions.
I have completed trainings in perinatal mental health, focusing on treating birth giving parents all along the journey from trying to conceive to any struggles after baby is delivered. I hope to gain further training and specialization in this realm to further help those in this stage of life.
Since my internship in 2021, I have had a wide variety of experience working with anxiety and bipolar disorders, as well as work with folks in the LGBTQIA+ community. I originally worked with many older adults (ages 65+) and gained competency in working with grief and women’s mental health through years of experience. I am currently working towards earning my Women’s Mental Health Specialist Certificate.

To put it simply: therapy can help you by having another person - an objective party outside of your day-to-day life - be a sounding board to untangle the things that you have been holding on to. Therapy is meant to help us understand what has created ourselves in the present moment - and to create a different way of thinking, speaking, and reacting to form a more grounded you moving forward. We’re looking to flesh out your toolbox together; to find and agree upon what helps, what doesn’t, and how we can use these tools when we need them.
Perhaps how therapy can help you is best summed up by what Carl Jung, one of the founding fathers of analytical psychotherapy, once said: “I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become”. Therapy is the tool that helps us create who we choose to become.

Starting therapy is pretty simple - you reach out to me in whichever way you prefer (email, contact form, call, or text) with information on why you are seeking services, as well as your insurance or payment information. I’ll reach back out with some of my openings, and we’ll agree on a date and time! From there, I’ll send you my intake paperwork that goes over your demographic info, your consenting to treatment, etc. for you to fill out before we meet.
-
We will meet virtually via Simple Practice - which will send you a link the day of your session for you to log into our meeting. If you ever have any issues getting in, please contact me and I’ll work it out with you.
-
At the end of our first session, we will set up a schedule going forward that is based on: your availability, my availability, and your treatment needs. Some folks need every week meetings, some need biweekly, or even monthly. It all depends on what you are seeking treatment for and how our schedules align.
-
I am in network with the following Iowa insurance plans: Wellmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Midlands Choice (the PPO carrier for many Cigna, Medica, HealthPartners, and Oscar plans - Midlands Choice will have their logo on the top of your insurance card), and Iowa Medicaid plans (I am currently contracted with Iowa Total Care, and working to be contracted with Molina and Wellpoint). When we set up our first session and at the beginning of every new year, I will run your eligibility with your insurance plan to make sure coverage will be successful. I also accept private pay.
If you have any questions about insurance or payment, please feel free to contact me.
