Perinatal Mental Health
Having a child can be one of the most vulnerable, joyful, and isolating times of someone’s life. It’s something that nothing else will ever compare to. Whether it’s reclaiming your identity, building community, coping after birth, battling postpartum symptoms, or coping with the loss of a child or pregnancy I have been honored to work with moms and folks who have given birth through a myriad of difficulties during the child raising years. It’s too often that moms and those who give birth fall to the wayside and the focus is solely on baby. Someone needs to take care of you too.
It’s my privilege to be able to walk with you during a time of your life that is so full of duality; the joy of newness and the loss of familiarity, the excitement of an expanding family and the fear of what that may mean. The decision making within having a child, being pregnant, and taking care afterwards is so complex and so often brushed aside as typical that often we are meant to suffer in silence. Research often ignores the pain of birth trauma, child loss, postpartum symptoms – especially for women of color. You deserve to have a space to be seen and heard; where you can be mom and also the intersectional person that you are. Where you can truly examine what is and is not an okay experience on this unique journey. Please reach out with any questions you may have!
